WSET Level 1 Award in Wine

A relaxed, practical introduction to the world of wine - in Harrogate.

The WSET Level 1 Award in Wines is a one-day course designed for complete beginners and anyone who wants to build confidence with wine.

It's particularly useful for frontline hospitality staff who may have little or no wine knowledge, helping you understand the basics, talk more confidently with customers, make simple recommendations and provide better wine service.

You'll taste 10 wines while learning about key grape varieties, wine styles, winemaking, tasting, food & wine pairing, storage and service.

No previous wine knowledge is required.

The course takes place at Ake & Humphris Wine Bar & Shop in central Harrogate, with engaging, practical tuition from Sophia Luckett of The Drink Talking, a WSET Educator since 2016.
