Defining quality of wine (or cheese, music, furniture, tea etc) I feel is probably quite different for many people. I’m curious to hear your thoughts on this subject, if you feel similar or differently. It’s a question that crops up all the time and I had to have a good think about my own definition.

On the ‘authenticy’ of wine, I am reminded of a quote I read from iconic wine maker, Serge Hochar, from Chateau Musar:

“I once produced a wine that was technically perfect but it lacked the charms of imperfection”
