Who is WSET Level 2 aimed at?

WSET Level 2 is aimed at wine enthusiasts, hospitality professionals, retail staff, wine merchants and anyone looking to develop their wine knowledge or build a career in the wine industry.

The course is suitable for both consumers and trade professionals.

While some previous wine knowledge can be helpful, it is not required. Anyone with an interest in wine, a willingness to learn and a genuine enthusiasm for the subject can successfully complete the course, even without having studied wine before.

Who is WSET Level 1 aimed at?

WSET Level 1 is aimed at wine beginners, hospitality staff, front-line customer-facing teams and anyone looking to gain a basic understanding of wine. No previous experience is required.

Course content covers key grape varieties, regions, food and wqine pairing and wine service.

Do I need wine knowledge before Level 1?


No. Level 1 is designed for complete beginners.

Can I start with WSET Level 2?


Yes! Many people enrol on this course with no previous wine experience.
While some previous wine knowledge can be helpful, it is not required. Anyone with an interest in wine, a willingness to learn and a genuine enthusiasm for the subject can successfully complete the course, even without having studied wine before.


Are exams included?


Yes the exams are included in the course price.

Level 1 is a one day course and the exam takes place at the end of the day.

Level 2 is a three day course and the exam takes place at the end of the third day.

How many wines will I taste?

How many wine you taste on a WSET course varies on which level you take.

WSET Level 1 = 10 wines

WSET Level 2 = 35+ wines

Will I receive a certificate?

Yes. If you successfully pass the examination, you will receive an official WSET certificate and lapel pin for your qualification.

WSET certificates are now issued digitally. Once your results have been confirmed, you'll receive a QR code and secure link that allows you to download and access your certificate online whenever you need it.

Your WSET qualification is internationally recognised and can be shared with employers or added to your professional credentials.
